Pledge/Rush News

On April 5th, Alpha Kappa Psi brought in over 20 new pledges for it's spring Mu Pledge Class! The brothers and pledges bonded through study breaks, U&I’s, and formal on a boat! On June 3rd, 20 pledges were initiated into the fraternity after completing various tasks that called on their marketing, fundraising, and organizational skills.

Professional News

On May 23rd, ProCom hosted a lunch networking session in collaboration with Booth's Investment Banking Group for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years who are incoming summer analysts or full-time analysts at investment banks. The students had meaningful learning experience through one-on-one conversations with Investment Banking Group members.

On Jun 2nd, Alpha Kappa Psi hosted a lunch barbecue event during alumni weekend for brothers and alumni. More than ten alumnus joined current brothers to enjoy a nice spring day on the terrace. The reunion allowed for new and old brothers to take a break before finals week and to connect with older generations of the fraternity over lunch.

Service News

On April 17, Alpha Kappa Psi participated in Alpha Omicron Pi sorority’s annual philanthropy event “Alpha Games”. AKPsi’s contestants Yasmeen Haider and Aanya Jhaveri competed in minute-to-win-it show-style games. AKPsi raised $952 in total for Camp JAM, a juvenile arthritis camp located just outside Chicago supporting kids and their families dealing with an arthritis diagnosis.

Social News

Among all the social events Alpha Kappa Psi has hosted this quarter, the most exciting one was the Spring Formal on a boat! On June 1st, the last Friday before finals week, brothers boarded the Mystic Blue at Navy Pier for a night of food, drinks, and dance on a constantly swaying dancefloor.

Dancing was only interrupted by the announcement of superlatives, with the “Unsung Hero” award going to the brother who led the organization of formal herself, Michelle Wu. Other notable awards included Chun Lau (“Funniest Brother”), Anirudh Pennathur & Tanmay Gupta (“Best Bromance”), Maria Snaider (“Most likely to contribute to society”), and Edward Chang (“Thirstiest Finance Bro”).
