Pledge/Rush News

This winter quarter, we are happy to announce that our two new Master-of-Rituals will be Allison Zhang and Sean Ji! We thank our previous Master-of-Rituals Xav Kershaw and Anant Matai for all of their hard work during the past two rush cycles. In accordance with our previous announcement, we will unfortunately not be holding a Spring 2020 rush cycle, but we will continue to keep you updated with news and happenings of AKPsi throughout the quarter!

Professional News

This past Winter Quarter, the Professional Committee successfully held our annual Brunch with Booth event where undergraduate students were able to speak with Booth students with a variety of backgrounds. AKPsi was also able to strengthen its finance programming with our Finance Technical Series led by Eddy and friends! Nonetheless, ProComm has recognized the importance in expanding professional programming to expose brothers to other career possibilities. In addition to our finance and consulting programming, ProComm held data science and CS office hours and offered workshops surrounding recruiting for non-finance/consulting career paths and entrepreneurship. Next quarter, ProComm hopes to have more consulting-related workshops in preparation for consulting recruiting and expand its tech and entrepreneurship programming into a more robust resource that brothers can draw upon.

Social News

Winter quarter opened up with the Maya show, Crossroads, with brothers Isabella Lee, Michelle Wu, and Fendy Gao performing! Brothers also gathered at Maravillas for a fun night of food and karaoke, and watched models Rachel Cheng, Gurveer Singh, and Bethany Ko down the MODA runway, where Ally Cong was a featured designer. In more casual social events, brothers drank boba at Te'Amo, shared many Wednesday dollar shakes, enjoyed brunches and baked desserts.

Service News

This quarter, AKPsi’s Service committee executed an exciting Launch Event for the AKPsi Professional Closet, an initiative that aims to increase access to professional attire on campus. The launch event included trying on professional attire and getting a free LinkedIn headshot, enjoying delicious food and learning more about the initiative! As for other service events, brothers volunteered at the 61st St. Farmer’s Market, cheek-swabbed for Gift of Life, and made blankets for Valentine’s Day that were donated to Project Linus!

Finance News

This quarter, AKPsi’s finance committee has planned and successfully carried out the Valentine’s Candle fundraiser, in which many brothers participated in ordering candles, distributing them and tabling for the event.

Diversity & Inclusion News

This quarter, the D&I committee finalized our Official Beta Epsilon Chapter Statement on Diversity and Inclusion, reaffirming our commitment to fostering an equitable brotherhood and workforce. We also successfully partnered with the Organization of Latin American Students to hold an Excel training workshop. This was a great opportunity for our chapter to reach a broader multicultural community and together build upon professional development skills. Brothers also had a great time exploring the Ukrainian National Museum, learning about Ukrainian history, and eating some delicious Ukrainian food at Tryzub Community Kitchen!
